Nendo modular lamp system

Launched in 2008 and based in Helsingborg, in the southernmost region of Sweden, Wästberg lamps have been honoured with more than 30 awards for design excellence, including 8 Good Design Awards and 5 Reddot awards. Nendo w132 lamp system was developed in collaboration with Japanese Designer Nendo. The result of the collaboration is a lamp system, where a number of parts can be arranged in different configurations, leading to different lighting arrangements (and utilisation) : the shade, pole and base.

The height and form of the light can be easily changed by adding and rearranging the components. By attaching the wire to the shade, it becomes a pendant lamp. Adding a longer pole to the table lamp makes it a floor standing one. The shade is also available in three different shapes: a cone, sphere and a cylinder and three different colours: white, black and blue.

During Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2013, Wästberg realised an installation by Nendo that showcased the large possibilities of use of the lamp system. See all photos from the set here. The exhibition was accompanied by the release of the book “Nendo. Illuminated by Wästberg”.
