Black + Bright house

The house is in a quiet cottage area on the island near the town of Møn, facing the Baltic sea expanse in Denmark.

One of the characteristic elements are the floor-to-ceiling sliding windows which open out onto the breathtaking natural surroundings. In summer the landscape becomes part of the house, and in winter you can enjoy the cosy warmth of the wood stove while looking out into the fields. The sloping roof makes room for another bedroom, while in areas it is left free, to realise a high and broad living space. At the heart of each house is a sauna, connected to the outside, in which you can enjoy the relaxing and therapeutic Nordic tradition.

Jan Henrik Jansen, a German architect living in Copenhagen, designed and built the house in his spare time (well, he actually built two houses, with different architectural form). Now both are offered as rented holiday accommodation. Find more info here and here.
