Formex 2013, to be held in Stockholm , from 17-20 January is the largest
interior design fair for Nordic design. The fair is a meeting place for 850
exhibitors, 25,000 national and international visitors and over 850 media
representatives.
A new time and a new season
is upon us. After the dead of winter, we long for a fresh start, first warming
rays of spring sun and daylight sense of hope and life. This season's theme,
"Fresh" reflects a new, modern and bright feel. "It is
simplicity with a design strong expression and a strong trend that reflects
both the nature relaunch and our need for restart after a long winter",
says Formex project manager Chicie Lindgren.
The theme revolves around the
wooden surfaces, rattan and other simple, natural materials, and patterned
fabrics with an artistic touch or an uplifting splash of color. Watercolors
dipped, sprayed, batik dyed or painted with sweeping brushstrokes in spontaneous
patterns are big favorites in a look that is simplistic, yet sophisticated ;
minimalist but still romantic. This seasonal crispy color theme plays with the
sorbet palette, pink, sunny yellow and sky blue are combined with a base of
whites, browns natural tones and matte metals like gold and copper.
On 17-20 January, it will be
time for Young Designers at Formex. This will be the tenth occasion the zone
for promising new designers is featured. Over the years, quite a few exhibitors
at Young Designers have achieved success and public acclaim for their design
work. Interest in Young Designers is increasing all the time among fledgling
designers and there have been more applicants for this spring’s Formex than
ever before.
