Gant Rugger

Mr Bernard Gant launched his eponymous label in 1949, defining an elegant New England style and attitude, combined with European design influences. The Gant Rugger label draws upon the brand’s Ivy League heritage, reinventing vintage preppy classics for today. Laying claim to several innovations in preppy style - including the third button on the back of a button-down collar and the locker loop - Gant Rugger is the real deal, and a dependable choice.

Designer Christopher Bastian's influences often come from his friends. With close ties to many street style photographers and menswear bloggers, Bastian designed pieces that speak to regular guys wanting to up their style a few notches without going totally broke. Crisp, tailored button downs pair well with slim-cut suiting and prep classics like bomber jackets and lightweight parkas, all balanced out with slim trousers, tees, and knits with a vintage feel.

Sharp blazers, be it single-breasted in casual linen or double-breasted in dressy glencheck, are matched with chinos and classic oxford shirts both with button down and spread collars. Summery fabrics like linen, jersey and hopsack are presented in windblown and sunfaded pastels combined with all-American primaries of red, white and blue. Accessories include shantung ties, selvedge madras pocket squares and linen summer scarves, while a black watch tartan car coat is a standout piece in its own remark.
